G5 Purpose and need: The purpose of the project is to incorporate alternative transportation methods and increase the safety of bicyclists/pedestrians and increase the connectivity to city parks, recreation facilities, ect. The current street design limits the safety of the roadway for bicyclists as parking is currently allowed on the west side of the street and cyclists are forced away from the curb due to the on-street parking. Incorporating Share the Road signage and sharrows will increase awareness to motorists.

I am opposed to this project because there are other projects more important. We only have so much tax revenue to spend and our taxes should not be increased for every project. RP needs to budget its revenue to pay for its own CIP projects.

I wholeheartedly support this project to increase pedestrian and bicycle safety along Nall Ave. In the past 6 months (since Covid-19) I have noticed a very large increase in car traffic, walkers, parents with baby strollers, joggers, and bikers to the point that we try to find alternative streets to use instead of using Nall. When we use Nall, we constantly have to stop mid-block for the safety of pedestrians and bikers and to allow oncoming traffic to pass because of little room on the road due to so many cars parked along Nall.

I support this project because it will connect people to the multi-use trails in Nall Park and R Park. Nall will be connected to the Mission activity center, the Roeland Park activity center (via 51st St.), and other venues. I want our community to be more pedestrian user-friendly, and this project will help achieve that goal.

I support this fiscally responsible initiative as an investment in public safety & quality of life. Nall is a heavily used venue for vehicles, pedestrians & bike riders. This improvement is consistent with the citys community for all ages commitment.

I support this project. This is a heavily traveled street-by walking, bikes, and cars. More people are out walking now that being indoors is not as safe as it was. As I am out walking many streets are not safe due to cars traveling faster than speed limits and even running stop signs. I think anyway that we can work to make our city safer for the citizens is a good thing. I do have a wondering, though. As mentioned above, part of what makes Nall unsafe are the vehicles parked on the street. I didnt see a way that is going to be addressed above, although I might have overlooked it.

I definitely support this project to increase pedestrian and bicycle safety. We live just off Nall, and since the beginning of the pandemic there has been a significant increase in both pedestrian and bicycle traffic on Nall and all the surrounding streets, including dog walkers, joggers, parents pushing strollers, bikes, trikes, etc.. This would be a worthwhile project.

I support this project wholeheartedly. I frequently walk all around the city, and this area could really benefit from the proposed improvements for pedestrian traffic. Sounds like a good, needed solution. Thank you@

I wholeheartedly support this project and its proposed improvements. Nall has become increasingly unsafe for foot and bicycle traffic as the number of vehicles traveling has grown. Any project that improves the quality of our sidewalks is well worth it!

I wholeheartedly support this project. I am a daily walker and have to avoid Nall because it is dangerous for pedestrians and bikers. As a driver, I must stop to let other vehicles pass due to parked cars.

I support this project. Nall badly needs safety improvements, especially in light of increased foot traffic since the pandemic. I avoid Nall when walking or driving because of deficiencies.

I live on Nall and I support this project. Although I do not want to see an increase in vehicular traffic, I desperately want wider sidewalks, better sidewalk-to-driveway and crosswalk transitions to increase accessibility, and safer bicycle access. I’d also like to see vehicular speed control measures added, for example: speed tables at intersections, speed humps, and painted, striped crosswalk street markings are a few ideas. Better street lighting would also improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.
